Ronnie Hawkins is a singer and musician of the rockabilly genre whose career started in Canada. In fact, he’s been credited for being influential in establishing rock and roll in the country. Not only that, he is also recognized for scouting and mentoring some of the best musical acts in history, including Janis Joplin and her Full Tilt Boogie Band, Crowbar, Skylark, and many others. He’s been battling pancreatic cancer for some years now, but it seems his cancer treatment is keeping it at bay.
