Max Baer Jr. (Jethro Bodine) – 86
Classic TV fans will undoubtedly recognize Jethro Bodine, the lovable yet dim-witted character brought to life by Max Baer Jr. on the iconic sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies. As the last surviving member of the show’s original main cast, Baer’s career kicked off with his first acting role in the 1949 film Goldilocks and the Three Bears. He later made guest appearances on popular series such as Maverick, Cheyenne, and 77 Sunset Strip. In 2003, Baer ventured into a unique business project, aiming to transform an old Walmart in Carson City into a Beverly Hillbillies-themed casino and hotel. However, facing local opposition, he eventually sold the site and purchased land in Douglas County, where his plans were further stymied by legal disputes, leading to the project’s indefinite suspension in December 2017.
