Editing conflict

Back in the 80s, some still considered the dancing in Dirty Dancing to be quite scandalous. One person who had this view was no other than the film’s editor who was not at all impressed with Baby’s dancing. He reportedly even complained to Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the movie based on her own experience as a teenage mambo queen. He claimed that nobody would respect a woman who danced like Baby, which Eleanor completely dismissed.
