The real Johnny?
It’s well known that the character of Baby was based on writer Eleanor Bergstein’s life. Of course, many wanted to know who the real Johnny was. Eleanor claimed that most of her old dance partners were either in prison or in rehab as she came from a very rough neighborhood. However, a dancer named Michael Terrace did come to her mind.
