Uncomfortable conditions

Because Dirty Dancing was filmed as the climate shifted from summer to fall, it made for some very uncomfortable shooting conditions. It was too hot to shoot indoors with all the equipment, while outdoors, it was the complete opposite with the frigid cold. The crew was lucky as they had adequate heating from their coats and boots. Patrick and Jennifer, however, had to wear summer clothes in the freezing weather.
