What happened to Baby and Johnny?

Dirty Dancing ended on a high note with its iconic dance sequence, but it provided no clue to what happened to the characters right after. One person who does know, however, is writer Eleanor Bergstein, but she’s not telling anyone. And since Patrick Swayze refused to do a sequel, despite the massive pay check promised, it looks like we will never know.
