A bittersweet goodbye

To their credit, the fishermen had done all that they could for the cubs, even risking personal injury to do so. What’s important is that the cubs were safe on dry land and out of the freezing water. The rescuers knew that their bond with the bears would last forever, and that was the most they could ask for. They left the cubs in the woods and hoped that they would be safe.
